Loudoun County Sheriff's Office seal

An Ashburn man was assaulted and robbed in his home Monday after a man forcibly entered the residence, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

Around 10:22 p.m. Monday, the suspect entered through a window into a home near the 20000 block of Smith Circle in Ashburn.

The suspect, whom the victim reportedly knew, stole a microwave and assaulted the victim as he was fleeing.

Deputies responded to the area of Edwards Ferry Road NE in Leesburg and attempted to locate the suspect, who reportedly fled on foot and could not be located.

The Leesburg Police Department and the Virginia State Police assisted the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office with the search.

More than a dozen cruisers with emergency equipment flashing lined Edwards Ferry and Plaza streets in northeast Leesburg during the search.

8 miles away.. thats a LONG distance. Then having 3 different police agencies assisting in an assault and theft of a microwave?? Seems super fishy.

I'm confused. Ashburn house robbed, man leaves on foot, police look around Edwards Ferry Rd in Leesburg. Isn't that distance like 10-15 miles apart. How far can a guy carrying a microwave get?

An assault over a Microwave? This fool would have done better to rob the local Walmart and they'd be facing lesser charges.

Clearly my man's toaster oven was worthless.
