The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints will host the second annual Emergency Preparedness Fair Sept. 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church on 21015 Claiborne Pkwy. in Ashburn.

This event will be free to the public and is part of celebrating National Preparedness Month in September. Organizers say there will be several fun classes and exhibits throughout the day, including CPR practice, preparing for power outages and hands-on practice with fire extinguishers. One of the experts speaking at the event is wilderness and survival skills instructor and New York Times best-selling author Tim MacWelch.

Partners for the event include Moorefield Station Fire and Rescue 23, the Loudoun County Office of Emergency Management and the American Red Cross.
