Two males sustained non-life-threatening gunshot wounds while traveling by car in Aldie on Saturday night, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.
One of the males, a backseat passenger, was "manipulating a firearm" while traveling near the intersection of John Mosby Highway and James Monroe Highway around 9:40 p.m., officials said Monday.
The firearm then reportedly discharged multiple rounds, injuring both the backseat passenger and the driver.
The two injured males later arrived at Fair Oaks Hospital in Fairfax, after which the driver was transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital.
The driver was treated and later released from Inova Fairfax, per the LCSO.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the shooting.
