Trustees of the Claude Moore Charitable Foundation recently announced grant recipients for the 2018 cycle.
The foundation, which was created by the late Loudoun resident Dr. Claude Moore, has pledged or made more than $65 million in grants to various charities since its founding in 1987.
Loudoun-based charities and organizations have received over $18.3 million, including $1,319,500 for 2018.
“Dr. Moore spent most of his adult life in Loudoun County and was defined by his belief that education is the key, and that everyone deserved the opportunity to get a quality education,” said foundation Deputy Executive Director K. Lynn Tadlock in a prepared statement. “The trustees strive to fulfill his wishes by concentrating a large portion of the grant budget on educational organizations in and around the place he called his home.”
