A woman was arrested in Sterling Sunday morning for allegedly driving while impaired, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.
While on patrol around 8:08 a.m., a deputy witnessed a vehicle drive partway through a red light into the intersection of Palisade Parkway and Cascades Parkway.
Officials say the deputy initiated a traffic stop and found the driver to be under the influence of alcohol.
Karen M. Washington, 57, of Washington, D.C., was charged with driving while intoxicated — her third offense — as well as operating a vehicle after license revoked and refusal of breath test.
She was being held Monday at Loudoun County Adult Detention Center on no bond.
