Dulles Town Center Sears store is closing

The Sears store at the Dulles Town Center mall will be closing this spring.

Another anchor department store at the Dulles Town Center Mall in Sterling will be closing soon.

The Dulles Sears, which is the last remaining Sears retail location in Virginia, is expected to close by April. The Sears Auto Center in Dulles closed in December. There are five remaining Sears Auto Centers in Virginia, according to the Sears website.

The news was posted on Sears’ career site, which advertises seeking temporary employees to help with the closing process.

Sears has been in the process of closing stores around the country, including in Richmond, Manassas, Winchester and Fredericksburg.

Sears is the latest large department store to close at the mall following Lord and Taylor and Nordstrom.

In November 2020, Centennial, a Dallas-based real estate investment firm, announced its third-party property and asset management division, Centennial Advisory Services, has been awarded the management contract for Dulles Town Center in Sterling.
