A teenager from Fairfax County has been charged in connection to a stabbing that occurred April 12 outside a McDonald's in South Riding, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.
The 17-year-old suspect was charged Thursday with aggravated malicious wounding, Sheriff’s Office officials wrote in a release.
Authorities cannot release the suspect's name because he is a minor.
The suspect reportedly stabbed an adult male around 1:35 a.m. after emerging from the bushes outside the restaurant, which is in the 43200 block of Defender Dr.
The victim was treated for what were described as serious injuries at a local hospital and later released, officials said.
An LCSO investigation followed the incident, during which investigators reportedly learned the attack was not random.
The suspect is currently being held at the Loudoun County Juvenile Detention Center.
