A Falls Church man was arrested in Sterling Saturday morning after allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol and assaulting a Loudoun County Sheriff's Office deputy while being placed under arrest.
The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office reports that a deputy observed the suspect sleeping in a running vehicle that was parked in a parking lot near the 47100 block of Community Plaza around 12:47 a.m. The man was found to be under the influence of alcohol, and narcotics were located in his possession.
While being placed under arrest, the man reportedly pulled free from the deputies and attempted to flee on foot. He then assaulted a deputy before being taken into custody.
David Pugnetti-Webb, 22, was charged with driving while intoxicated, assault on law enforcement, obstruction of justice and possession of a controlled substance.
LCSO officials say Pugnetti-Webb was later released from the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center on a $5,000 bond.
