A man was arrested in Sterling early Sunday after allegedly causing two hit-and-runs while under the influence, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.
A deputy on duty near the intersection of Circle Drive and East Holly Avenue around 1:37 a.m. reportedly heard the sound of metal scratching and saw a vehicle go through a stop sign at high speed.
Per the LCSO, the deputy initiated a traffic stop and found the driver to be under the influence, further observing his vehicle had significant front-end damage. Authorities reportedly later found the driver had collided with two vehicles.
Jose A. Portillo Urbina, 24, of Herndon, was charged with driving while intoxicated, drinking while operating a motor vehicle, driving without a license and two counts of hit-and-run.
Authorities also issued Portillo Urbina citations for failure to obey a stop sign, unsafe equipment and failure to use a turn signal.
Portillo Urbina was later released from the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center on a $2,000 bond.
