An 18-year-old inmate allegedly assaulted a sheriff's deputy in a Leesburg courtroom Wednesday morning, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.
The deputy was reportedly escorting Riley D. Biro, of Leesburg, out of a courtroom in the Loudoun County Courthouse on E. Market Street when the teenager struck the deputy.
Biro was charged with assault on law enforcement and the deputy sustained minor injuries, LCSO officials said.
Biro is already facing numerous charges in Loudoun General District Court, many of which stem from an arrest on March 15, per court documents.
These include two charges of a bomb or burn threat, two charges of obstruction of justice, two charges of violation of a protective order and one charge of violating pretrial conditions.
Between court appearances, Biro is being held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.
