School Board meeting rally

A box truck displaying a message calling for the recall of School Board member Beth Barts (Leesburg District) passes by a crowd gathered outside the Loudoun County Public Schools Administration Building prior to a School Board meeting in June.

Loudoun County School Board member Beth Barts has been ordered to appear in Loudoun County Circuit Court on Monday at 9 a.m., according an order signed by Chief Judge Douglas L. Fleming on Sept. 3.

Barts has been ordered to appear to show cause why she should not be removed from office based on the “enumerated charges” brought forth the group of Loudoun County residents known as the Citizens of the Leesburg District.

The group that filed the petition, Citizens of Leesburg, which collected 1,860 signatures, claims that Barts’ neglect of duty, misuse of office, and incompetence in the performance of her duties are among the reasons for their petition.

To mobilize and collect that many signatures in this hyper-partisan atmosphere is indeed a feat to be proud of it is sad that the school board members have created such hate.
