Loudoun County Public Schools seal

Loudoun County Public Schools announced that schools would be closed Friday as the region prepares for a second snowstorm in less than a week, according to a Thursday evening news release.

Administrative offices will open at noon, with scheduled activities permitted on school campuses after 4 p.m., officials said. Further announcements will be made by noon Friday, they said.

The National Weather Service has placed Loudoun County under a winter weather advisory, calling for 2 to 4 inches of snow, with the heaviest snow occurring overnight.
