Joseph Lucio III, 21, of Leesburg was sentenced to 10 years in prison on Monday for the 2020 murder of Joel Rodriguez-Quezada, according to the Leesburg Police Department.
Lucio entered a guilty plea to one count of second-degree murder in Loudoun County Circuit Court earlier this year.
Rodriguez-Quezada was 48 years old when he was declared dead in the 100 block of Fort Evans Rd. SE in Leesburg in the early morning hours of April 7, 2020.
Officials said the victim had suffered apparent trauma to his face and head, the result of a physical altercation between himself and Lucio, then 20.
Lucio remained on scene, was taken into custody and was charged with one count of first-degree murder.
In addition to his decade-long prison sentence, Lucio received a suspended sentence of seven years, three years of supervised probation and 120 hours of community service, LPD officials said.
