COVID-19 Testing Event

Personnel work to administer COVID-19 tests Tuesday morning during an event at Philip A. Bolen Memorial Park in Leesburg.

Loudoun County announced the cancellation of Friday's COVID-19 testing event at Philip A. Bolen Memorial Park due to a forecast of snow, according to a Thursday news release.

Additionally, the county is also rescheduling all January 7 appointments at the COVID-19 vaccination clinic at Dulles Town Center.

All individuals who had vaccination appointments on Friday will automatically have their appointments moved to a date next week and will have the option to reschedule themselves to any date that is convenient for them, according to the release. Everyone with appointments has been contacted directly regarding the need to reschedule their appointments, officials said.

The closure was necessary, they said, because inclement weather adversely affects the county’s ability to operate the testing and vaccination sites, which are heavily dependent on contractors and volunteers.
