Loudoun Chamber presents annual Community Service Awards

Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce Board Chair Stacy Metcalfe presents Chairman’s Awards to Greg Jay, April Brown, Dr. John Morgan and Linda Coffey.

The Loudoun Chamber of Commerce held a virtual Community Leadership Awards event on Jan. 27 where it announced this year’s winners, including Inova Loudoun President Deborah Addo and Donna Fortier, executive director of Mobile Hope.

For the past eight years, the Community Leadership Awards honor the businesses and community leaders that have shown outstanding leadership and a commitment to support the Loudoun community and its citizens, according to chamber officials.

“The entire Loudoun Chamber community applauds all of our finalists and winners for this year’s Loudoun Community Leadership Awards. They are perfect examples of the generosity and commitment to service that is so pervasive here in Loudoun, and those qualities have never been more evident than in the countless number of examples of Loudouners responded with remarkable generosity and sacrifice throughout the current pandemic,” Loudoun Chamber President and CEO Tony Howard said in a prepared statement.

Additional Chairman’s Awards were presented by Board Chair Stacy Metcalfe to Greg Jay, April Brown, Dr. John Morgan and Linda Coffey for their service to the Chamber.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Loudoun Chamber also created the #StrongerTogether Award. This honor went to a group of five community initiatives, campaigns and projects created to alleviate the human and economic suffering in the community caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The five winners and 20 finalists were chosen from the following categories: Large and Small Businesses, Nonprofit Executive, Executive Leader and Young Professional. The finalists were chosen by a panel of professionals in the Loudoun business community.
