Loudoun County | Pennington Parking Garage Rendering

The new Pennington Parking Garage at the Loudoun County Courts Complex in Leesburg was scheduled to open Aug. 1.

The opening of the new Pennington Parking Garage at the Loudoun County Courts Complex in Leesburg is delayed until further notice, according to county officials.

The garage was supposed to open Aug. 1.

The unexpected delay is necessary, county staff says, to allow more time for the construction team to complete the final details and to test some of the garage’s technology systems.

Due to the delay in the garage opening, the surface Pennington Lot will remain open to the public and employees. Members of the public who have business at the courts complex or in the Town of Leesburg may continue parking in the Pennington Lot until the new garage opens.

A new opening date is pending the completion of additional testing of technology systems.

Does the contract have a performance penalty for not meeting the deadline? Let's claw back some money. If delays are caused by the County Staff, dock their pay!
