The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office will conduct a sobriety checkpoint Friday shortly after 10 p.m.

Members of the Loudoun Sheriff's Office Auxiliary Unit and volunteers from the Loudoun Chapter of MADD will assist with the checkpoint.

Per standard protocol, the sheriff's office discloses when it will conduct a DUI checkpoint, but not the location.

“The sobriety checkpoint is a reminder to residents to make the smart choice, don’t drink and drive,” said Loudoun County Sheriff Mike Chapman (R).

Which exit of One Loudoun are they setting up at?

Still waiting for the first hands-free/texting checkpoint.....distracted driving and all that. Or do we not think there's a serious problem?

I agree. Everyday on my commute I witness at least a dozen people driving/texting. I usually see more Fairfax law enforcement out vs Loudoun during weekdays during rush hour(both ways).
