Loudoun Education Foundation

Local residents have once again organized a grassroots effort to raise funds to pay down all local children’s school meal debt.

In Loudoun County, the public school system provide free and reduced meals to 17.5% of students – more than 14,000 meals – spread throughout more than 90 schools.

Still, meal debt campaign organizers say there are a number of students whose families do not qualify for free or reduced meals because they are slightly over the income level.

So for the third year local citizens and businesses are working to reduce the meal debt incurred by students and their families. Residents can support the effort by visiting Loudouneducationfoundation.org/generaldonation.html to donate. Add “School Meal Donation” in the comments section. Donations are tax deductible. Checks, meanwhile, can be made out to the Loudoun Education Foundation and sent to: Loudoun Education Foundation, 21000 Education Court, Ashburn, VA 20148.

All funds raised by the campaign will go toward reducing student meal debt. Organizers have been able to cancel all student meal debt in the previous two years. This year the debt stood at $80,000 at the beginning of April.

Interesting post given your history of posting against feeding needy children free meals at the schools

I usually don't agree with David's posts but I don't remember him saying anything like that. Are you sure you have the right person?

There are many posting around the web on various platforms where he positions himself against public schools, free and reduce lunch programs, and providing assistance for recent immigrant childing in our schools

LCPS is overfunded and inefficient and spends it money poorly. Which is more important: building multiple multi-million dollar athletic fields or ensuring students have food to eat? LCPS's priorities are messed up.
