Loudoun Education Foundation

Four Loudoun County business leaders have joined the Loudoun Education Foundation’s Board of Trustees, according to a Monday announcement.

The new members include Kelly Blanks, Marcy Eisenberg, Myshel Guillory and Lawrence Melton.

“Each of the new board members brings a new background to the table to help expand the Loudoun Education Foundation’s outreach and support of Loudoun County Public Schools,” the announcement reads.

Blanks is the director of marketing and communications for Madison Wealth Management, which has offices in Leesburg, Washington, D.C., and Cincinnati, Ohio.

She recently joined the company to lead its branding, messaging and business development initiatives, LCPS officials said.

Before joining Madison Wealth Management, Blanks worked as a nonprofit development leader in the region. She has worked with Loudoun Abused Women’s Shelter (LAWS), the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia and Inova Health Foundation.

“Joining LEF’s board was a no-brainer for myself, my family and my new job,” she said in a prepared statement.

Eisenberg, president and cofounder of Leesburg drone testing site Xelevate, previously built and sold a national security consulting firm with her husband. That firm won numerous business awards and was an Inc. 500 and Inc. 5000 honoree.

She is also the author of “The Relevance Path: 7 Steps to Give Your Organization a Decisive Edge” and is an FAA Part 107 Certified Commercial Drone Pilot.

Per LCPS officials, Eisenberg joined the LEF Board of Trustees because she “love[s] the mission that LEF undertakes to ensure that LCPS has the tools it needs to help students from every perspective — economically, demographically, functionally and emotionally.”

Guillory serves as chief financial officer for Vienna-based Nodal Exchange Holdings and its subsidiary, Nodal Clear, for which he is also treasurer. She also serves as interim CFO for BBCE, a Brazilian finance brokerage firm.

Previously, Guillory was an audit manager on engagements that included the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, the Make-a-Wish Foundation and the American Heart Association.

She was appointed to the LEF Executive Committee earlier this month and will serve as the foundation’s treasurer. In a prepared statement, Guillory said teachers’ salaries “are far below what they should be, they spend countless hours on their own time and ... have to spend many dollars out of their own pockets.”

Melton boasts more than 25 years of federal executive experience. In 2013 he established The Building People, a facilities services company in Leesburg for which he serves as CEO and president.

He previously spent 21 years at the General Services Administration, according to his LinkedIn profile. Melton also served as director for the White House Center, providing project management, facilities and realty services to the Executive Office of the President, officials said.

“Enabling our students to experience and be involved in aligning real innovative solutions early is key to preparing the workforce of the future,” Melton said in a prepared statement.

Founded in 1991, the Loudoun Education Foundation is a 501©(3) nonprofit that works to “foster the academic success and well-being of students and teachers” in LCPS, according to its website. More information is available at loudouneducationfoundadtion.org.
