The 54-year-old man who was arrested and charged with public intoxication near Seneca Ridge Middle School on Tuesday was again arrested and charged with public intoxication Wednesday night.

Edgar N. Rivas Arias, 54, of no fixed address, was released from the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center on a personal recognizance bond after both incidents, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

Around 11:21 p.m. Wednesday, deputies responded to the 21400 block of Cedar Drive in Sterling for an alarm call at a business. Once on scene, deputies observed an adult male, later identified as Arias, running from the building.

Arias was located nearby in an intoxicated state, according to the LCSO. He was charged with public intoxication for second time in less than 30 hours.

Around 5 p.m. Tuesday, Arias was arrested after being found standing in the woods near Seneca Ridge Middle School. He was found to be under the influence of alcohol during that incident, as well.

No children were present during the Seneca Ridge apprehension, according to the sheriff's office.

Swampfiller, not sure what you are saying no to. I had to retire because of a disability also, but soon I can collect SS. There are things you can apply for like snap, might as well you’ve been paying into it with your taxes all your working years.

Saying no affordable housing, rather complicated to explain through this format. 4 yrs ago I fell and by the time I got out of hospital and rehab it had cost me over $50,000 out of my pocket. Before that ,my ex ran off with her boyfriend and it cost me a pretty penny to be rid of her and keep my kids out of it. Don't think of me being some poor downtrodden soul, I get by alright, live with my sister, talk about liberal.tAnd missing a few meals has been good, I weigh the same as I graduated college, with the weight undergoing redistribution. There are many people worse off than me. Another day in the old and the restless. You are not too young, how many husbands and children do you have? OFF TOPIC, shame on you.

Can we drive him to MD?

amerigirl

That sure make us in VA seem pretty hateful if we can't support our own when they are down on their luck, but it looks like nobody has reached out a hand. Hope they do before he goes over the edge, he's right next to 2 schools.

workhardgetahead

Our own? sorry Amerigirl, most likely illegal. Not our own!!!

amerigirl

workhard, you don't know that and either way he is our problem.

latinlobster

Oh yeah. You look at him and he has a Spanish name thinking he must be illegal and must be sent to a Sanctuary city. You are so narrow minded and inconsiderate in thinking to send him off and let MD deal with him.

In a good caring community, we would get this guy some help instead of turning him back onto the streets. Where are the so-called "Christian" churches or social services when someone is on a downward spiral. Help this man instead of letting the police deal with him.

Chris McHale

Tom - Cant help someone who doesn't want help.

latinlobster

Who says he "Doesn't want help?" Did anyone take a moment to talk / listen to him and give him help / suggestions?

JayZ

Who knows what he needs? Public intoxication is a crime. Let the police rearrest him and give him a home in Jail.

amerigirl

Your compassion is overwhelming. You must be truly one of God's children.

amerigirl

You would think that the police would have asked if he wanted social services to help him. It's easier to ignore the problem than be part of the solution.

There are churches all around the community. Everyone has access to a church in America. There is nothing stopping this man from getting help for one of them, or anywhere else, for that matter. And there isn't one church who would not help him if he sought it.

Chris McHale

Maybe he's just looking for a fixed address.

I hear they are building low income housing in Broadrun.

Jeanne T

Wonderful!! No?

L19111

Low income is relative. In Loudoun County, low income housing is still out of reach for people making less than $23/hr and have children.

Nope Amierigal; I am retired because of disability, I make too much to much to qualify, and not enough to pay for the apartments and meet other expenses like food and medical, I am down to 2 meals per day, now. Worse, is all the potential sugar mommies are married.
