A man who was taken into custody in Lucketts Oct. 1 has been charged with the recent robbery and attempted robbery of two Leesburg businesses.
According to the Leesburg Police Department, an attempted robbery occurred at the Leesburg Best Western hotel around 11:39 p.m. on Sept 30, during which the suspect implied that he had a weapon and demanded cash. He then fled the scene without taking anything.
Not long afterward, in the early hours of Oct. 1, the suspect entered the Leesburg IHOP, threatening employees and demanding cash. He fled the scene with currency from the business.
No injuries were reported in either incident.
With help from the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect was identified and determined to have been involved in both incidents.
James E. Wiseman, 35, of no fixed address, was taken into custody and held on a drunk in public charge on Oct. 1. Since then, LPD officials charged Wiseman with one count of robbery and one count of attempted robbery.
