The Fairfax County Police Department arrested a man Sunday in connection to a reported armed robbery that occurred in Leesburg on Jan. 14, according to the Leesburg Police Department.

Warrants from the Leesburg Police Department charged Kyle Robinson, 30, of Rockville, Maryland, with robbery, displaying a firearm in the commission of a felony and threats.

As of Thursday, Robinson remains held without bond at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center on the Leesburg warrants and other, unrelated charges.

According to the original LPD report from last month, officers responded to the 800 block of Edwards Ferry Rd. NE around 5:28 p.m. on Jan. 14 for a report of a subject brandishing a firearm, though responders were reportedly unable to locate the suspect.

A few minutes later, officers returned to the apartment complex for a report of an armed robbery involving a suspect whose description matched that given in the previous report.

The suspect was reportedly determined to have assaulted a victim — to whom the suspect was known — and to have taken an undetermined amount of money and personal property from the victim before fleeing in a vehicle.

The LPD Criminal Investigation Section is continuing its investigation into the two incidents and asked anyone with information to contact Detective C. Hill at 703-771-4500 or
