U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at Washington Dulles International Airport on Jan. 29 arrested a Nebraska man wanted for three counts of first-degree sexual assault on a child.
Kokou Domkpo, 42, of Omaha, was wanted by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office and planned to board a flight from Dulles to Ethiopia, according to CBP officials.
After arresting Domkpo on a warrant, CBP officers turned him over to the Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority Police to begin the extradition process.
According to an Omaha World-Herald report from February 2019, Domkpo — then 40 — was charged with the repeated rape of an underage girl.
It is unclear whether the warrant was related to the charges filed in 2019 or a different set of charges.
