Leesburg Starbucks render

Leesburg Plaza will welcome a new Starbucks in summer 2020, according to an announcement from Federal Realty Investment Trust.

The new coffee shop, located along Market Street across from a current Starbucks location, will comprise 2,500 square feet and will include a drive-thru and outdoor seating area. It will also include an improved streetscape with new landscaping, more trees, wider sidewalks and decorative masonry piers, according to the announcement.

"We are thrilled to welcome such a highly sought-after national merchant like Starbucks to Leesburg Plaza," Federal Realty Investment Trust Vice President of Asset Management Deirdre M. Johnson said in a prepared statement. "The drive-thru feature, combined with a modern indoor design with comfortable seating as well as an outdoor café area, creates a location ideal for the many needs of our customers whether they need a quick coffee on the go or a gathering place to connect with business associates and friends."

Hours of operation for the new location will be 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays and 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekends.

Starbucks has opened over 30,000 locations worldwide since its foundation in Seattle, Washington, in 1971. More information on the chain can be found at starbucks.com. More information on Federal Realty Investment Trust is available at federalrealty.com.

A Starbucks across the street from another Starbucks. I guess they are going to be on every corner.

I heard they are closing that one on market street and opening the new one.

If it were a Popeyes with chicken sandwiches available TODAY then it would be newsworthy. Otherwise not sure this warranted an article. But at least it's a break from the political posts.
