The Purcellville Town Hall

The Town of Purcellville announced Wednesday how it will fill an open seat being vacated by Councilman Ted Greenly, who announced last week that he is resigning effective May 31.

Applications must be filed by 5 p.m. on June 3, town officials said.

The council will then review applications, conduct interviews and make an appointment at a date yet to be determined.

To serve on Town Council, applicants must be a qualified voters in the Town of Purcellville.

Five residents have submitted applications to run for the seat as of Wednesday: Former town councilman Ryan Cool; Erin Rayner, who previously ran for a seat on the council; Caleb Stout, Elizabeth Ford and Christopher Baltimore, who each currently serve on the town’s Community Policing Advisory Committee.

For additional information, contact the town clerk, Diana Hays, at 540-751-2334.

Erin Rayner would be my choice if I had one because of her non-stop efforts.
