There's a new development in the tale of Hamilton Town Councilman Dimitri Kesari, who earlier this month was indicted on federal election and campaign finance charges.
NBC News has obtained footage of an apparent FBI raid at Kesari's Hamilton home from earlier this month. NBC first ran a story on the raid over the weekend, followed by a report on the Rachel Maddow show on MSNBC Monday night.
The footage shows commotion at the Hamilton residence during the early morning raid earlier this month. Kesari's family was forced out of their home, and agents forbid one of Kesari's children from putting on or getting a pair of pants while standing outside.
Kesari was not home on the morning of the raid. He has not commented on the charges against him.
Kesari was indicted by the U.S. Justice Department for allegedly playing part in a political bribery scheme during the 2012 presidential election. Kesari was a political operative for GOP candidate Ron Paul at the time.
The local town councilman, who is a friend of county Supervisor Eugene Delgaudio (R-Sterling), is also a suspect in a suspicious break-in at the Rhode Island home of a former Republican staffer. That staffer, Jared Gamble, a former roommate of Kesari's, died in 2013 at the age of 26.
This is a developing story.
