Winifred Freeman mugshot

Winifred C. Freeman

A woman was arrested in Hamilton Sunday morning after reportedly driving under the influence of alcohol and being found in possession of narcotics, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responded for a single-vehicle crash in the area of Harmony Church Road and Digges Valley Road around 2:17 a.m. Authorities say the driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol and narcotics were discovered in the vehicle.

Winifred C. Freeman, 24, of Hinton, was charged with driving while intoxicated — her second offense — possession of a controlled substance and driving while license is suspended or revoked.

Freeman was being held Monday at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center on a $2,500 bond.

A young woman has a serious illness and you joke. She will do a couple of years for those charges, and on top of facing a serious, life threatening illness, she will owe thousands of dollars. There is not treatment in Va prisons. When she is released she will face finding a job with a record. She won't be able to drive to the job. The court costs and fines will ruin her credit, she will have wages garnished. The court system, bailiffs, and corrections officers will have jobs. Your taxes fund the prison system. So instead of treating an illness, our society spends vast sums. So ignorant people can joke and feel superior. Unemployable, uneducated brothers in law have a job. The system continues and society stays sick. Disgusting

Shocking, another DWI/DUI driving on a suspended license. Maybe it's time for law enforcement to take ownership of DUI/DWIs cars. Suspended their license does nothing.

It all starts with a nose ring.

That's for the leash

I always chuckle just a bit when someone named Freeman is locked up.

But muh wine tourism!

No wineries are open at 2 AM. Take your prohibition somewhere else.

Wineries close at 9 on weekends. Not 2am
