With salons in Purcellville, Lovettsville and Ashburn, the owners of Salon Alure have decided to extend their business into a new arena by creating a hair academy and cosmetology school.
Owned by Harman and Manisha Nayyar and their business partner, Mesut Demiralp, the school aims to instruct students who are interested in becoming hair stylists, nail technicians, estheticians and makeup artists.
The one-year program -- operated out of a site on Sycolin Road in Goose Creek Village in Ashburn -- focuses on the science of cosmetology, health and safety in three phases.
“We serve students who want to pursue a career in cosmetology. The beauty industry opens up so many opportunities,” Manisha Nayyar told the Times-Mirror.
She said they are accepting and reviewing applications for the next two cosmetology groups, the first of which begins on July 24. The next group will begin Sept. 18.
Nayyar said the program includes hands-on learning and provides skills in owning a business. The cost of the program is $13,500, and payment plans and scholarship opportunities are available. More information can be found at alurehairacademy.com.
