A man was arrested Friday night in Sterling after allegedly striking a pedestrian with a vehicle, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responded to the intersection of West Poplar Road and South Sterling Road around 6:34 p.m. for reports of a collision, but the suspect reportedly fled the scene prior to their arrival.

A second alleged victim said when he tried to stop the driver from fleeing the area by standing in front of the vehicle the suspect drove toward him and nearly struck him.

Officials say no injuries were sustained during the incident.

Authorities located the driver and found him to be without a driver's license.

Misael A. Moya, 44, of Sterling, was charged with hit-and-run, assault and driving without a license.

As of Monday afternoon, Moya was being held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center without bond.
