Park Police Badge

A Sterling man died Sunday morning after a single-vehicle crash on Washington Memorial Parkway, according to U.S. Park Police.

Fairfax fire officials responded to the area of the parkway and Turkey Run around 5:45 a.m., where they found a car had struck a tree. Fire units extricated 29-year-old Santino Deleone, of Sterling, who was pronounced dead on scene.

The accident remains under investigation by the U.S. Park Police Criminal Investigation Division and Traffic Safety Unit.
