15200 Route 15 Map

A crash in the 15200 block of Route 15 near Lucketts claimed one life Sept. 1.

Update: Sept. 1, 4:30 p.m.

Virginia State Police are investigating a multi-vehicle crash that reportedly left a Sterling man dead Tuesday morning.

Officers responded to the 15200 block of James Monroe Highway around 12:50 a.m. for reports of the incident, which involved three vehicles.

According to VSP, a 2003 Mazda Protégé traveling south crossed the center line and struck a 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe.

Moments later, a Toyota Corolla reportedly struck the two other vehicles.

The Mazda driver, 30-year-old Cory Wilcox, died at the scene, according to VSP.

The Chevrolet driver was reportedly transported to Reston Hospital for treatment of serious injuries, while the Toyota driver was uninjured.

All three drivers were wearing seatbelts, authorities said.

One person is dead following a crash in the 15200 block of Route 15 in Lucketts, according to the Virginia State Police. The deceased's name had not been disclosed as of 8 a.m. Tuesday.

The three-vehicle collision occurred today around 12:45 a.m., according to the VSP.

An investigation is ongoing.
