A West Virginia woman died early Sunday after her car ran off the road and struck a tree in Purcellville, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

Cherry Coleman, 48, of Charles Town, West Virginia, died at the scene near Route 287 and Fremont Overlook Lane around 3:20 a.m.

A preliminary investigation found Coleman was traveling northbound on Berlin Turnpike when she failed to follow the curve. Her vehicle ran off the roadway and struck a tree.
