Wine and beer delivery service opens in Loudoun

Casey Koester and Payman Ahrarian opened Buzz Butler, a wine and beer delivery service based in Sterling. They will deliver anywhere in Loudoun County.

A new wine and beer delivery service has launched in Loudoun County.

When Wolf Furniture Store in Leesburg closed last March after filing for bankruptcy, the store’s manager, Payman Ahrarian, began to consider his options for future employment.

He had a business idea that piqued his interest. So along with his girlfriend, Casey Koester, they put together a plan, and Buzz Butler became a reality in December.

Ahrarian said the concept is simple — visit the website, place an order for wine, beer, as well as several snack options of nuts and cheese — and delivery is free anywhere in Loudoun County with a $25 order. For orders under that threshold, delivery is $7.

Buzz Butler offers a range of wine and beer options, Ahrarian said, including wine from local vineyards such as Fabbioli, 868 Estates, Casanel and Stone Tower and local craft breweries such as Tucked Away, Crooked Run, Lost Rhino and Solace.

Prior to launching this business, Ahrarian worked in retail management for the last 15 years and is excited to kick off this new chapter in his career.

“This was the perfect opportunity to start it with COVID keeping people at home and in need of more delivery options,” he said.

Buzz Butler also has a storefront at 47028 Harry Byrd Highway in Sterling where wine and beer can be purchased or picked up curbside.

Their plans are to continue to build inventory and Ahrarian says he appreciates recommendations from customers.

“It’s going well so far, we have great momentum. We have about 80 different wines and 30 beers and we will be adding more,” he said.
