Loudoun County authorities are investigating a single-vehicle crash that left one person dead in Ashburn Saturday morning.

The crash occurred around 1:49 a.m. when a 2007 Toyota Scion left the roadway traveling eastbound on Ashburn Farm Parkway between Starflower Way and Summerwood Circle, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. At one point, the LCSO reports, the vehicle became airborne and crossed the westbound lanes, struck a utility pole and drove through a residential fence before coming to a stop.

A man and woman were both thrown from the vehicle during the crash. The woman died at the scene. Her name had not been released as of 10:05 a.m. Saturday.

The man is being treated for serious but non-life threatening injuries.
