Charles R. Riley

Charles Raymond Riley, a nearly lifelong resident of Loudoun County, died Sunday, August 9, 2020, in Berryville, Va. Born on May 24, 1926, he was the son of the late Raymond and Lucy Shumaker Riley.

Mr. Riley enjoyed dancing, cold beer, and listening to country music while in his favorite rocking chair. He also never met a lawn mower he couldn’t cajole into running like new. He worked for JKJ Chevrolet (Tysons) until the age of 83.

He is survived by his daughter, Mary Ann Cubbison and husband Phil of Stephens City; granddaughter, Wendy Huybrechts and husband Steve of Oak Hill; grandson, Chris Dunster of Olympia, Wash.; and five great-grandchildren, Rachel, Caden, Taryn, Mia, and Ryleigh. He is also survived by his sister, Evelyn Smallwood of Purcellville.

He was predeceased by his wife of nearly 63 years, Mary Katherine Riley, as well as his son, Charles Neville Riley; brothers, Thomas Riley, Norman Riley, Kenneth Riley; and sisters, Rosa Virginia Fry and Patsy Milbourne.

A graveside service will be held at Hillsboro Cemetery on a date to be determined.

Arrangements are being handled by Enders & Shirley Funeral Home, Berryville, Va.
