Christopher “Chris” John Finnelle, 44, of Berryville, Virginia, unexpectedly passed away on November 26, 2019. Chris was born in Fairfax, Virginia, on August 29, 1975, the son of Roberta “Bobbie” (LaRoche) Finnelle and the late John “Jack” Finnelle. He traveled around the world living in Malaysia and South Korea before he graduated from Park View High School, Sterling, VA, in 1993. On May 25, 2014, he married his soulmate Anna and gained two amazing sons, Jordan and Sage. He owned and operated FINNtastic Creations, bringing wood to life through his masterful craftsmanship. He also worked for Matthew Bowe Design Build and Scott Long Construction for many years. Chris is survived by his wife, the love of his life, Anna May (Morris) Finnelle; his sons, Jordan Linman and Sage Helsley; his loving mother, Roberta (LaRoche) Finnelle; father-in-law, Clarence Morris; brother, Scott (Christine) Finnelle; sister, Kimberlie Finnelle; stepsister, Debbie (Beland) Lawhorne; nephew, Matthew Cocco; nieces, Samantha Finnelle, Kori Morris, Carlee (Brenton) Arrington, Samantha Gray, Madison Gray, Kylie Lawhorne, Taya Gaither and Myah Gaither; great-niece, Brooklynn Curcio; his beloved dogs, Finnely and Titus; along with his extended family and lifelong friends. Chris was preceded in death by his father, John Finnelle. Known as the “Dog Whisperer,” Chris loved all animals, but especially dogs. His blood ran red for the Capitals as a devoted fan. He was known for his extraordinary love for family, his infectious humor, his passion for woodworking, enthusiastic support for Clemson football, heavy metal and his wickedly awesome robot dancing. His compassionate spirit will be deeply missed by all. A celebration of life will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 8, 2019, at the Dirt Farm Brewery at 18701 Foggy Bottom Road in Bluemont, Virginia.
