Daniel Allan Coates

Daniel Allan Coates, 57, of Lovettsville, Virginia, passed away on August 19th, 2022. Danny was born and raised in Lovettsville, Virginia. From the moment he could walk, Danny spent his childhood exploring nature.

He developed into the hardest working and most humble outdoorsman.

Danny made a career out of his passions; cattle and agriculture. He never took a day off in his life, often managing herds of hundreds of cattle and raising the crops to sustain his operation. His laborious skills didn’t stop there, as Danny was an expert brick mason. He built many beautiful structures in his life.

His favorite hobby was hunting, and in the hunting community, Danny is a legend. His deep interest for the art of tracking helped him bag bucks and gobblers other men could only dream of. Danny’s unparalleled work ethic drew a very clear picture of his character — a simple and honest man who only strived to do good for those of whom he loved. While the wilderness was constantly calling Danny, he always came home to his truest love, the woman who inspired him to never stop fighting, his wife. With his family and friends, Danny loved to playfully tease and have fun. His infectious laugh will always be remembered.

Danny was preceded in death by his father, Andrew Harrison Coates Sr., his brothers Andrew “Petey” Coates Jr. and Michael Coates, and his step son, Austin Echols. Danny leaves behind his wife, Michele Coates, three step children, his mother, Stella “Louise” Coates, his sisters, Debbie Coates, Kathy Stonesifer, Theresa Everhart, and Leslie Loy, along with many nephews and nieces to cherish his memory.

Funeral services were held on Monday, August 29, 2022, at 1 pm at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel.

Interment followed privately at Furnace Mountain Cemetery.

Ivy Lou was Danny’s beloved beagle for 16 years.
