Doreen O'Claire Hyatt

Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and treasured friend to many, Doreen O’Claire Hyatt passed away at the age of 89, on June 8, 2020. She was born on August, 25, 1930, in Manhattan, NY. She lived in New York NY; Jacksonville, FL; Annapolis, MD; and Northern Virginia, and in 1965, she ultimately made her home in Lovettsville, VA.

She was active in her church and touched many lives there and in her community. After receiving her bachelor’s degree from George Washington University, she was a career teacher and tutor in Fairfax County, Frederick County, MD, and Loudoun County.

Doreen had a special gift for making every person she met feel special. She was a firm believer in the Divine potential in all of us.

She is survived by her husband, George Hyatt; her children, Doris (Richard) Hill, Robert (Susan) Hyatt, Frank (Shauna) Hyatt, John Hyatt and Stephanie (Paul) Butler; along with 18 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

The family held a private memorial service at the family home on Saturday, June 20, 2020, and plan to have a public service in the future.
