James Blakely Simpson

James Blakely Simpson, 88, Leesburg native passed away on Wednesday June 5, 2019 at Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington VA. He is survived by his wife of 65 years Lois Muncy Simpson and his son Barry W. Simpson both of Leesburg, VA. Jimmy worked for Safeway Inc. for 41 years, Loudoun Times Mirror circulation department for 20 years and after retirement loved working for Colonial Funeral Home of Leesburg for 25 years. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents John Blakely Simpson and Eva Athey Simpson, his sister Peggy S. Graham. He is survived by his brother in laws Kenneth Graham of Hamilton VA, Cliff Muncy of Florida, Lee Moore of Leesburg VA, Ralph Gregory of WV, his sister in laws, Patty Kelly of Harper Ferry WV, Barbara Moore of Leesburg VA, Peggy Shugars of Purcellville VA, JoAnn Muncy of Leesburg, VA, Ann Muncy of Austin, Texas, Betty Ann Muncy of Mertzon, Texas, Anna Marie Brenton of Florida and Geraldine Lynn of Winchester VA. His cousin Melvin Doster of Leesburg and June Wagner of Warrenton. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews and friends. Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 11 from 6 – 8 at the Colonial Funeral Home of Leesburg VA. The funeral will be held at noon on Wednesday, June 12 at Leesburg United Methodist Church 107 West Market Street in Leesburg. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers please consider making contributions to Loudoun County Rescue Squad, 143 Catoctin Circle, Leesburg or Leesburg United Methodist Church Love Committee, 107 West Market Street in Leesburg VA.
