Margaret (Marty) Maykrantz of Hamilton, Virginia left this world on June 9, 2019 at the age of 75 years. Marty was born on March 16, 1944 in Indianapolis, Indiana. She is predeceased by her parents Raymond and Marlyn Sprong. She enjoyed painting and gardening and she was a renowned baker and chef, even parlaying her expertise into a successful catering business which served area residents for years. She especially liked to make Italian dishes and exotic soups from around the world. Marty eventually settled into a home in Sterling Park, VA in 1968 where she resided for nearly 50 years. During that time, she accomplished many things beyond being a loving wife and mother. She was the Virginia State President for the Jayceettes from 1971 to 1972 where she earned a lifetime member award, she established and operated Commonwealth Caterers, LTD from 1976 to 1994, she established and operated Flower Talk from 1986 to 1994, she was an active volunteer for the Holiday Coalition from 2002 to 2008 and Catholic Charities from 2007 to 2010 and she is a breast cancer survivor. Marty was quick witted with a sarcastic sense of humor and if you didn't know her, you might possibly think she was cynical at times but her mischievous smile would always give way to her big heart and she had a remarkable way of comforting any situation. She was a healer, a confidant, a teacher, a fighter, a friend, a lover and a saint all wrapped into one.
