Sharan J  Hill

Sharan J Hill passed away on January 23, 2021, at home in Leesburg, VA. She was born on May 7, 1947 in Charlottesville, VA. She was predeceased by her parents, G. Dewey Hill and Dorothy K Hill.

Sharan grew up in Leesburg, graduating from Loudoun County High School in 1965. After attending Northern Virginia Community College, she graduated with a B.A. in Religion from Mary Washington College of the University of Virginia in 1972 and from Radford College with a M.S in Guidance in 1973. She continued her studies in Higher Education at Florida State University, earning ABD in 1984. In 1992, she earned a Master of Divinity Degree from Wesley Theological Seminary.

After a career as an educator in Community Colleges in Florida and Maryland, Ms. Hill dedicated herself to ministerial outreach in various communities in the Shenandoah Valley. Upon retirement, she found a rewarding occupation as a greeter in Home Depot. She was a member of the Leesburg United Methodist Church.

Sharan was a passionate golfer, tennis player and dog lover. Her Pomeranian, Sampson, stayed by her side until the end. She will be missed by many friends who could always count on her for a good laugh, a helping hand and a listening ear.

Internment will take place at Ebenezer Cemetery, 20421 Airmont Road, Bluemont, VA, with the Rev. Jim Wishmeyer, Leesburg United Methodist Church, Leesburg, VA officiating. For date and time details, please view the Direct Cremation Services of Virginia site,
