Shon Bryan Applegate, Jr.

Shon Bryan Applegate Jr. passed away on October 12, 2020, at the age of 28. He was the oldest son of Annmarie Applegate and Shon Bryan Applegate Sr. and has two younger siblings, Cierra Mariah Applegate and Patrick James Applegate.

Shon is survived by his paternal grandmother, Susan Mell; his maternal grandparents, Mary and Ed Jordan; aunts and uncles, Jessica and George Bell, Misty and Jeffrey Maldonado, Connie May, and Don May, along with a host of close cousins and friends. Shon is preceded in death by his grandfather, Harry Mell III; uncles, Shane Booth and Michael Booth; and aunts, Ruthie Applegate and Kelli Guthrie.

Being raised on the Eastern Shore of MD, Shon enjoyed spending time with his family boating, fishing, and hunting. At the start of high school, he moved with his family to Loudoun County where he attended Loudoun Valley High School and joined the wrestling team. In his junior and senior years, he also attended Monroe Technical Center where he was certified in welding. After graduating from high school in 2010, he went on to graduate from Divers Academy International where he studied underwater welding. He loved working on his truck with his dad and drinking his Dunkin’ Donuts coffee. He loved the holidays and held every baby he could get in his arms. Shon worked for NPL Construction Company in Manassas,VA, while still working with his dad from time-to-time at S & A Handyman Services.

Viewing and visitation was held at Hamilton Baptist Church, 16 E Colonial Hwy, Hamilton, VA 20158, on Saturday, October 17, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., preceding the service at noon. Reception immediately followed the service.
