As a student who is both a varsity athlete and a member of the performing arts program at my school, the recent decision that theatre performances are now classified as social events is heartbreaking and discriminatory against students in the arts.

Allowing sports games to function with 100 spectators, while classifying theatre performances as social events is killing the arts and completely disregarding the hard work of these students.

With this new order, my school is no longer able to invite parents to see our spring musical: High School Musical 2, which for many, is the last time we have the opportunity to perform on the Rock Ridge stage. People are counting on the state to create a safe and inclusive environment for ALL students.

Please reconsider EO72 to include all students, not only athletes.
