As an old timer myself and having older relatives and friends, I am vitally concerned about the outrageously slow rollout of the COVID vaccine. One news article quoted the Virginia Dept of Health as indicating that all the states were having similar problems. But then along comes the Bloomberg Vaccine Trackerwhich shows that Virginia is behind almost every other state (only ahead of Kansas and Georgia).

The governor and Virginia Department of Health are in damage control. More excuses than shots in the arm. They say they're doing good, but it's not good.

I read the news releases carefully, and I cannot detect any note of urgency. Virginians are dying, and Virginia has the vaccine locked in refrigerators.

West Virginia knows how to get this job done. One possible difference is that West Virginia is using their National Guard to a higher degree.
