The new Comprehensive Plan was approved, to desultory applause from the small audience. A number of supervisors had proclaimed that since the plan garnered equally bland reactions from both conservationists and developers, it must be “good.”

They were wrong. Loudoun County belongs to its citizens, not to the real estate industry, and not to people who don’t live here. For the Comprehensive Plan truly to be good, it should have prompted citizens to dance in the streets and developers to drown in their tears.

Pity things did not turn out that way.

Charles, All is lost ONLY when folks stop participating in government by not voting! The majority of Loudoun is not enthralled by the plan and everyone who isn't pleased with the TPA being expanded should be upset. One Supervisor (former Mayor Umstaddt) took a stand against the plan and plans don't bind the next board so get you emails going to help all local registered voters to get out and say goodbye to the incumbents who supported it. With 4 new Supervisors especially a new Chair it will be revised downward by a huge margin enough to wake up Richmond to stop harvesting Loudoun. Didn't you hear the President yesterday - Never give up! Never give up! Never give up!
