Shocktober, The Arc of Loudoun’s award-winning Haunted House, and its sister Haunt, My Bloody Valentine, have enabled The Arc of Loudoun to provide thousands of hours of volunteer opportunities to teens in the region (our “Haunt Family”) and to raise millions of dollars since their inception in 2010 – funding that directly supports the most vulnerable folks in our community – people with disabilities and their families.

But there isn’t going to be a Haunt this fall. The stewards of Paxton Campus, who have generously donated use of the property to The Arc of Loudoun since 2009, have removed Carlheim Manor from The Arc’s lease. While we would never voluntarily forego Shocktober – as evidenced by our creation of Virtual Shocktober for the 2020 season during pandemic-forced closures – we are no longer allowed access to the Manor for any purpose, and we’re completely out of space in all other buildings on campus.
