I never thought I’d ever say these things about the political party of my youth, of my parents, grandparents and even great-grandparents, but I took an oath during my 30 years of uniformed service to America and swore to “…protect and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.” The actions by the House of Representatives convinces me that the Democrat Party fully qualifies as one of those “domestic enemies.”
How else to explain the unrelenting, quixotic, hate-filled, and often foul-mouthed attacks against a president who has done more for this country than any president in the last 50 years? How else to explain the absurd notion that the president has broken any laws?
For over three years, the Democrats have manufactured and hurled every possible dirty trick against the president. They have called him a traitor, launched a “special counsel” to investigate alleged links to Russia, claimed he was a puppet of the Russians, attacked him personally, attacked his official family, his personal family – even the gracious and sophisticated first lady – and anyone who supports him. Violent street thugs have been used to assault conservatives, shut down college speakers, disrupted traffic and generally threatened anyone who even hints at support for the president. No one in the Democratic party has had the courage to condemn this illegal behavior.
Having failed in all of their attempts at subversion, slander, lies, distortion, character assassination, violence, anonymous sources, and supported by the pliant, dishonest and corrupt media, the House Democrats have now launched the “end game” of their campaign to reverse the election of 2016 and remove the president from the 2020 ballot: their so-called “impeachment inquiry.” It is little more than a made-up story, a travesty of justice and a great injury to the American people. It is intended to generate “charges” against the president and then demand the Senate vote to remove him from office. Their latest trick is using hearsay comments from an alleged “whistleblower” to claim the president tried to pressure a foreign government to investigate the former vice president. A reading of the telephonic transcript makes this claim ludicrous.
The Constitution states that removal is possible for “…Treason, Bribery and other high crimes and misdemeanors,” but the Democrats don’t follow the Constitution. They are making up “charges,” like “failure to cooperate with Congress,” asserting the Congress has a constitutional responsibility to “oversee” the White House.” It doesn’t.
The country seems headed towards a constitutional crisis, violence and very possibly bloodshed. Is that what the Democrats want? The answer, sadly, seems to be yes.
