A pair of goals by Jake LaCava helped lift the New York Red Bulls II to a 3-2 victory over host Loudoun United FC in a USL Championship game Aug. 29 at Segra Field in Leesburg.

New York built leads of 1-0 and 3-1 on its way to claiming three points in a matchup of Group F teams. The Red Bulls II (3-6, 9 points) moved four points clear of Loudoun United (1-5-2, 5 points) for third place in the Group F standings.

Kairou Amoustapha scored his first goal in a Loudoun United uniform in the 40th minute and added another goal in the 64th minute to bring the hosts within 3-2. Loudoun slipped to 0-2 at home this season after failing to net the equalizer.

Michael Gamble assisted on Amoustapha's first goal. Goalkeeper Colin Miller recorded his first penalty kick save of the season in the loss.

New York -- aided by a goal and an assist by Caden Clark -- won for the first time in four meetings against Loudoun since the start of the 2019 season. Loudoun defeated New York 2-1 on Aug. 12 for its first win of the 2020 season.

Loudoun will face the top two teams in Group F on the road this week -- Tuesday at Pittsburgh and Saturday at Hartford -- before returning home Sept. 12 to host Philadelphia.
