Broad Run senior Isaiah Lemmond hauls in one of his two touchdown receptions in the 2021 Virginia Class 4 state championship game Dec. 11 in Lynchburg.

The Broad Run Spartans scored 14 unanswered points in the fourth quarter but it was not enough to overcome a 21-point deficit in a 28-21 loss to the Varina Blue Devils in the Virginia Class 4 football state championship game Dec. 11 at Liberty University in Lynchburg.

Trailing 28-7 entering the fourth quarter, senior quarterback Brett Griffis led the Spartans on consecutive scoring drives to trim the deficit to seven.
