LCHS DD golf champs

The Loudoun County Captains placed first in the team standings at the Dulles District golf tournament Monday at 1757 Golf Club in Dulles.

The Loudoun County Captains shot a four-player total of 295 to edge runner-up Loudoun Valley by five strokes for the team title Monday at the Dulles District golf tournament, hosted by 1757 Golf Club in Dulles.

Nick Alexander paced Loudoun County with his round of 69. Matthew Monastero (72) finished second for the Captains, while Thomas Cegielski, Ryan Theiss, Ayla Browning and Jake Streets each shot 77.

Loudoun Valley's top four golfers -- Owen Cook (68), Jackson Ely (76), Maddie Elias (78) and Jack Holehan (78) -- combined for a team total of 300. Cook was the low medalist for the tournament.

Heritage (308) finished third in the team standings. Joe Johnson led the Pride with his round of 70.

Loudoun County and Loudoun Valley both advance as teams to the Region 4C golf tournament, set for April 12 at Fauquier Springs Country Club in Warrenton.
